Try the DG alert classic or DG away, just search DG.

The one problem with the market is that it is not policed enough, but that is the true open market place!

check out http://cyanogenmod.com if you are technical, I am running a custom ROM and already have the navigation you see on the DROID running on my G1.

Once you mod the phone, there are sooo many more things you can do!

Try "Missed Reminder" as it allows the following:

SMS, MMS, and Call reminders. You can set the following as well as set the number of reminders (mine is at "forever"):

LED color and blink frequency

A pop up notice.

A reminder tone

A vibration with ability to change length of time of vibration (leave the V in the setting and just change the number by 100 increments. My setting is "V1000")

It is free.

Have you tried downloading the app SMS Popup? It lets you set a designated color for missed sms and also missed calls I believe. In addition you can set sms reminders, I don't know if you set missed call reminders though.

But just the other day Google launched the paid app store so I'm sure there will be many cool and feature rich applications being developed at this point.
