It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle…
Trying to make it on your own is a concept that many people experiment with. It is a road less traveled but one where you have to make your own way. At times it can be slow, boring or feel like it’s a waste of time, but this is where the true leaders prevail. It’s easy to make it when times are good. It’s the down time where people usually bug out and quit or all out lose it. (more…)

Get used to rejection
Rejection, sweet rejection. It comes in all forms and sizes and it never feels good. Whether you’re in a meeting, on line at a busy night club or trying to meet people it is something we must all face on a regular basis. I used to have a hard time understanding what people meant when they said: (more…)

Facebook Connect your wordpress blog!
I have been waiting for this for quite sometime now. Ever since I saw Valleywag and Gawker add this coming soon feature to their blogs, I knew it was only a matter of time when it would be available to everyone. So I installed the plugin and with a little guessing and checking I tweaked it to work. I had one of my friends test it so far but he didnt leave a comment yet so I am not to sure how well it works. I was able to install it and then leave a comment so it looks pretty good, but I always like getting some feedback from other people. (more…)

Read your clients, turn on a dime if necessary
I had an interesting experience the other day when on a conference call. A gentleman I work closely with in a sales capacity had set up a meeting with a real big name client. He had pitched them on improving their current mobile offerings on a popular TV show these days. (more…)

Fine tune your business like you would an engine
When running any business you tend to get sucked into the facts, what people are saying is working, new trends and ideas or just simple tweaks. Now I think it’s important to try all new fads and trends in your industry, but it is just as important to know when to drop them. (more…)

In the Wall Street Journal
One of my companies was recently in the Wall Street Journal for the subject of sheriff sales and foreclosures. A Broker, Eric Van Auken, that works with me closely was on site to scoop up this press opportunity…this one was all about being in the right place at the right time. Or as we say in real estate, get out there and beat the streets! (more…)

Leadership Poem
So I don’t usually stretch and write poems, but for some reason I was just feeling saucy today. As I sat down to jog up some ideas and write a small post, it just started flowing so i went with it… (more…)

The Sky is falling!
Wow, so we have been on quite a run with this recent stock market romping and everyone seems to be losing their mind. While our parents retirements seem to be in turmoil and the economic infrastructure as we know it changing by day, there is hope on the horizon for people in the 20-35 age range. (more…)

One of my favorite networking tools
I have been carrying around this business card for a while now and I feel it has done way more good than bad. I usually give it out to break the ice at an event or network gathering. Using a card like this takes a keen sense of social skills so if you decide to give it a shot, use your judgment. You wouldn’t want to end up making enemies when all you were going for was a laugh

Where to have a meeting
I had a meeting at Starbucks the other day (one of many that have been had there) and I started to think if the places I am meeting at have an effect on the outcome of the meeting itself. Now there have been many things written on this, studies done and tape sets made, but if you are reading this then you are here to get my opinion anyway…so here it is: (more…)
