One of my favorite networking tools
If you want to be notified the next time I write something, sign up for email alerts or subscribe to the RSS feed. Thanks for visiting the Cookbook!
I have been carrying around this business card for a while now and I feel it has done way more good than bad. I usually give it out to break the ice at an event or network gathering. Using a card like this takes a keen sense of social skills so if you decide to give it a shot, use your judgment. You wouldn’t want to end up making enemies when all you were going for was a laugh ![]()

Can You Take Being in the Spotlight?
Let’s face it… If you are going to do anything in business that ends up being big you’re probably going to get thrown in the spotlight from time to time. Being in the spotlight can take shape in many forms and some will be easier than others. I have been in the spotlight a few times in small business environments and as I am getting older and more successful, these moments are coming more frequently and are bigger.
Everyone wants to be the Guy behind the Guy
In almost every business venture I embark on I always end up being one of the main faces of the company. Why? It’s not because I am smarter per say… It’s just that I am willing to face the heat so to speak. Being the face of a company or project is an important element in business relationships and necessary to satisfy the overall flow. If you can’t take people threatening you with lawsuits and other claims on how they will ruin your life on a regular basis than this may not be for you. Don’t take that last sentence lightly, it will happen more and more depending on how much you play the game.

Don’t call yourself an Entrepreneur!
The term “Entrepreneur” is thrown around way to easily these days. Everyone and their mother is an “Entrepreneur” and everyone knows someone that tried what you’re doing and it didn’t work. It all starts with you opening your mouth.
Stop Talking About It
If you plan on doing something business wise, then I advise you to keep it to yourself until you have made some preliminary plans; at least! People have an unfortunate habit of trying to kill your dreams, sometimes these people can consist of family members. In these situations you need to seek out advice from people who already doing what you are doing. Someone you would like to emulate, in a business sense.
Ask them if it’s possible? If they are an honest person, you’ll get an entirely different answer.

Stand out with a cool Twitter Template!
Now that I have started to keep track of my experiences (kind of like a life blogger, but not really), I realize the importance of having a nice integration with all your services online. In addition to incorporating the functionality of these 3rd party services, it is also important to style and theme these accounts (if they allow it).
With that said, I decided to customize my twitter account with a nice looking template. In addition to that, I made a few other twitter templates and decided to offer them to anyone who might find them here.
I got the idea for these themes from croncast’s twitter account, nice job man!
I have included all of the Photoshop PSD files below so you can tweak them further if you like.
