Conference Call Combat
Due to the virtual world conference calls are becoming increasingly popular and are frequently where you make your first impression in business. Unlike meetings, there are a different rules to play by in order to have things run smoothly and the margin for error is higher. (more…)

It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle…
Trying to make it on your own is a concept that many people experiment with. It is a road less traveled but one where you have to make your own way. At times it can be slow, boring or feel like it’s a waste of time, but this is where the true leaders prevail. It’s easy to make it when times are good. It’s the down time where people usually bug out and quit or all out lose it. (more…)

Get used to rejection
Rejection, sweet rejection. It comes in all forms and sizes and it never feels good. Whether you’re in a meeting, on line at a busy night club or trying to meet people it is something we must all face on a regular basis. I used to have a hard time understanding what people meant when they said: (more…)

Facebook Connect your wordpress blog!
I have been waiting for this for quite sometime now. Ever since I saw Valleywag and Gawker add this coming soon feature to their blogs, I knew it was only a matter of time when it would be available to everyone. So I installed the plugin and with a little guessing and checking I tweaked it to work. I had one of my friends test it so far but he didnt leave a comment yet so I am not to sure how well it works. I was able to install it and then leave a comment so it looks pretty good, but I always like getting some feedback from other people. (more…)

The (G1) Google phone is for real Geeks, it’s a multi-task maverick!
I seem to like the G1 more and more each day. The whole fact that they give developers access to the OS is huge because it allows them to really integrate the applications on the device.
The IPhone allows application development too, but not the kind where you can tweak or even replace common phone functions.
Take the missed call app, a great piece of software that allows you to change the LED notification to a special color for missed calls and text messages (I have missed texts set to pink!). In addition to that, it gives you up to 4 SMS responses to use when missing a call and you can reprogram them! This app rocks!! (more…)

Update on PostBot!
Ok, so I talked to the developer and was still stumped…ugh. Then I decided to do a little research and play with the app more. What I realized was that I had been using a special program to take photos called SnapPhoto. In this application I had set the image size to large which was causing the problem.
So this post will be the proof that I got it working…hopefully! (more…)

New wordpress app for G1 (google phone), supports pictures…ummm almost.
I was so happy today when I checked out the app market this morning on my G1! The launch of PostBot, a new wordpress client for the phone that supposedly supports multiple picture uploads.
Unfortunately this is the 3rd post I am writing because I can’t get the picture upload to work! Every time I add one it forecloses the app ![]()
See there are many ways to post to a blog from the android platform already, but none that allow pictures… I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a quick update!

Read your clients, turn on a dime if necessary
I had an interesting experience the other day when on a conference call. A gentleman I work closely with in a sales capacity had set up a meeting with a real big name client. He had pitched them on improving their current mobile offerings on a popular TV show these days. (more…)

Fine tune your business like you would an engine
When running any business you tend to get sucked into the facts, what people are saying is working, new trends and ideas or just simple tweaks. Now I think it’s important to try all new fads and trends in your industry, but it is just as important to know when to drop them. (more…)

Don’t complain about exchange, use gmail!
Just a quick rant. I have been reading and hearing a lot about people complaining about how android does not support exchange (yet
.
All I have to say is that ever since I switched all my email over to gmail my spam rate has drastically gone down. Another great thing is that gmail on the G1 works almost exactly as it does on your desktop. I understand if you work for a big company and you have to use exchange, sucks for you, for now.. but if you don’t need exchange and/or have a small business, consider moving your enterprise or personal email over to google.
It has saved me a considerable headache already!
Btw: posting this from the G1
